The Zeppy Fund
The Zeppy Memorial Fund was created in the spirit of helping
animals in need of medical treatment that would otherwise not
have access to veterinary care. The fund was established to provide
financial support and decrease costs associated with medical and
surgical procedures for these animals. Animals supported by this
fund can be from local shelters, low-income owners/families or
special cases that honor the human animal bond. Furthermore, the
fund will support any spay/neuter efforts in order to help stem
the staggering animal overpopulation problem in our community
by defraying surgery costs, purchasing equipment and assisting
local animal shelters. Monetary support will also be made available
for Cornell University Hospital for Animals' patients that are
in financial need on an individual basis upon request from the
hospital clinicians.
The Zeppy Run
The Zeppy Run had its inaugural running in October of 2001. Despite
only 2 months of planning, the race was a huge success and raised
$5,000 for the Zeppy Fund. Veterinary students and faculty, competitive
and recreational runners, and members of the community worked
together to make the best possible racing experience. |
